# Setting Up the Member Portal

Add the Clubs page to your customer accounts menu so members can manage their club. This takes about 5 minutes.

***

#### Before you start

* Your store is on Shopify's **new Customer Accounts**. Stores on classic customer accounts don't get a member portal at all — not a broken page, no page. Confirm your account type in **Shopify Admin** → Settings → Customer accounts before you launch: it's the single most common reason a merchant reports "members can't find their club."
* The app is installed and at least one club exists.

***

#### 1. Open the customer accounts editor

Go to **Shopify Admin** → Online Store → **Edit Theme**. In the dropdown at the top of the editor, switch from your storefront templates to **Checkout and Customer Accounts**.

You can also reach the same editor from **Shopify Admin** → Settings → Checkout → **Customize**.

#### 2. Add the Clubs page

1. Click **Apps** in the top left of the editor.
2. Select the Clubs app.
3. The editor loads the accounts page and shows a preview of how it will look to a signed-in member.

#### 3. Add it to the account menu

Click **Add to menu**. This is the step that makes the portal reachable — without it the page exists, but no member can navigate to it.

Shopify fills in the label and link for you. Edit the **Label** field if you want it to read something other than **Clubs**.

You can also manage this later from **Shopify Admin** → Content → Menus → **Customer account main menu**.

#### 4. Save

Click **Save** in the editor.

#### What your member sees

Signed-in customers see a **Clubs** entry in their account navigation — that's the default label, and it's whatever you set in step 3. Opening it shows a **Your Clubs** view listing every club they belong to, with a card per membership. From there they manage their own membership — address, payment method, pausing, skipping, and more. Rather than repeat that list here, see [What Members Can Do Themselves](https://crushsuite.gitbook.io/docs/clubs/managing-members/what-members-can-do-themselves) for the full breakdown.

Underneath the membership cards, the portal shows a **Join More Clubs** grid with every other published club in the same market that the customer hasn't joined. Publishing a club automatically puts it in front of your existing members. A signed-in customer who belongs to no club at all sees a **Join a Club!** prompt and an **Explore Our Clubs** grid instead.

#### Most club emails link here

Most club emails your members receive — the welcome email, payment failure notices, customization reminders, and the order processing notice — include a direct link straight into the portal. In practice, most members arrive this way rather than by browsing to their account and clicking around, so the portal being live matters even before you've told anyone about it.

#### How to check it worked

1. Sign in to your store's account area as a test customer who already belongs to a club — or use the link from that customer's welcome email. A customer who isn't a member of any club sees a **Join a Club!** prompt and your published clubs rather than a membership card, so testing with one doesn't confirm the portal is working end to end.
2. Confirm the entry appears in the account navigation, under whatever label you gave it.
3. Open it and confirm you land on **Your Clubs** with that membership listed.
